We are so excited that Wounded Warrior Project has returned to Whitefish again this year. This is our 5th year supporting this project and we are stoked to be spending the week with our Nation’s Heroes at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Skiing with these folks and hanging out with them is one of the biggest highlights of our year. They are the toughest guys and gals on the planet. Of course we’re giving all the Wounded Warriors ColdAvenger face masks, and sponsoring this event is one of the most important things we do here. Our CEO, John Sullivan, and a few of his friends will be hanging out on the slopes with these guys and attending some of the Winter Carnival events with them. You can read bios here on each Wounded Warrior that’s coming this year.

Check out the segment that KPAX TV aired on our involvement with The Coldest Journey. As you may have heard, Sir Ranulph Fiennes is leading a team of explorers to conquer the last great polar challenge: crossing Antarctica in winter. Their remarkable attempt aims to raise $10m for Seeing is Believing, and we’re thrilled that ColdAvenger is involved. Dennis Bragg of KPAX News says when referring to the expedition, “Missoula-based Talus Outdoor Technologies’ popular ColdAvenger masks will be a key piece of the gear. The company’s Phil Stempin said Fiennes’ team researched the top gear in the world and chose Talus after testing out its products.” Watch the rest of the story by clicking on the image below.
January 23rd-26th is the giant Outdoor Retailer trade show in Salt Lake City. We’ll be there!
If you are going to be visiting the OR Winter market at the Salt Palace Convention Center, come visit the Talus at the Snowsports Zone and see how improved lung function can be a reality.
We’ll be doing all sorts of fun live demos, and our CEO John Sullivan III will be available to answer your questions and chat about what makes the ColdAvenger such a great product.
December 2012 was a great month for us here at Talus Outdoor Technologies and one highlight would be readying about ourselves in our Sunday paper, the Missoulian. We got a chance to sit down and and talk with reporter Jenna Cederberg. This article focused on the ColdAvenger being used by Sir Ranulph Fiennes as he sets off to lead the first winter expedition across the Antarctic. Read the full article here.

We have just signed a new athlete to the ColdAvenger team; Bonnie Moebeck. Bonnie has a great story of triumph–watch her video here. She has suffered from severe pneumonia along with many other health issues and is still out there doing what she loves. She is set to compete in the brutal winter bike race, the Arrowhead 135 in January and we are going to help her cross the finish line by protecting her lungs and face from the frigid temperatures of Minnesota. Welcome to the team, Bonnie!
Jayson uses the ColdAvenger Expedition balaclava for occupational purposes, as his work conditions range from -5 to -50°C in the winter in Canada. Jayson is a surveyor working in the oil and gas fields north of Fort McMurray. He works 12-hour shifts per day and although he doesn’t get much of a chance to warm up, the ColdAvenger helps him combat and comfortably tolerate high-winds and below-freezing temperatures. He also notes that because he has to where safety glasses for the job, he is very appreciative they don’t fog up while wearing the ColdAvenger. Glad we could help you out, Jayson!
